Bokor Hill is best known for it's abandoned buildings, panaramic views and yearly new years eve party..
Established by the French in the 1920's as a hill-station, Bokor had its heyday in
the 1920s and was still popular with the rich and famous up until the time of the Khmer Rouge. The hill-station is 1000 meters above
sea level in the Elephant Mountains.

The ruins of a former casino, villas,
hotel and a Catholic church are often shrouded
in mist, giving the place a ghostly feel.
Scenes of the film “City of Ghosts,”
featuring Matt Dillon and James Cann were filmed at the old casino. As in much of Cambodia, wandering
off marked paths is not advisable.
